Civil Rights Movement in the 21st Century

The present day civil rights are much different than the civil rights movement that happened in the 1960's. We are now starting to expand equality to everyone, not just from a racial standpoint, but from gender, and sexual preferences. I'm referring to gay marriage, and whether is is right for them to legalize the right to marry each other. People wonder why this is even considered politics because it's based on an opinion base. If we look back at the 1960's, it was the same concept as well. We weren't giving African-Americans the same rights as every human being. Both gays and african-americans had to endure discrimination and prejudice and having to fight for the rights as human beings.
